The Financial Literacy Competition (Soutěž finanční gramotnosti) tests practical financial knowledge, budgeting skills, and the ability to make rational financial decisions. My team and I reached the national final and won 1st place out of more than 100,000 participants across the Czech Republic.
A nationwide competition for primary and secondary schools testing practical financial knowledge - budgeting, housing, savings, loans, and everyday family financial decisions. Competing teams work through a real case study and defend it in front of an expert jury. The event is supported by partners from the financial sector, such as ZFP Group and EFPA ČR.

Rules, dates, and results of the nationwide competition.
Open competition websiteThe competition had 4 seperate rounds. In the school and district rounds, we took an online test (individually for the school round, then as a three-person team for the district round). Advancing to the regional round required preparing a case study. We created a model family - the Nováks and, based on our own anonymous survey among Prague families, examined whether their budget was enough for a dignified life, some enjoyment, and a safety cushion for harder times. The national final took a different format - we received a brand-new case study on the spot and had to work through it against the clock. As a three-person team, we then defended our results live in front of an expert jury.
